  6.  The whole of the interior of St. Mark's is covered in a riot of golden 
  7. mosaics, ranging from 11th-century Byzantine works to rather dull 19th century
  8. pieces. I don't know how old this one is, but I'd say it's somewhere in the
  9. middle - it looks vaguely late medieval.
